07/17/2006 | Awful spelling = perfect funny sign!

This one is in the laundromat near my new house. I laughed out loud when I saw it. I certainly don't expect any non-native speaker to know English perfectly. It's an extremely hard language. But in a country where people study written English for six years in school, come on! Unfortunately, this only proves further that Japan is behind its neighbors South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and China when it comes to English proficiency. English in the Japanese education system, however, is a topic for another time.
